"if i constantly take the active pills instead of getting my period and taking the sugar pills, can i get/be pregnant? how would I know if I was if I didnt let myself ever have a period"

I take 3 backs of active pills back to back so i have fewer periods every year and have my period as normal inbetween. When i started doing this i went and spoke to my doctor who told me it was considered unhealthy to delay a period any longer than this as the hormones can effect your body in unexpected ways. She also said it was difficult to detect a pregnancy early other than the usual signs (morning sickness etc) or a missed period but the pills should have the obvious effect and prevent pregnancy as usual.
I know this doesnt really answer the question, but i thought the information i got might be of help :)
And to the beautiful person that runs this blog, we all appreciate what you do here :)
